Yes, you can strategically determine if you’d like fixed or floating for either electricity or natural gas, or even for specific site IDs, with Canoe Energy contracts.

No.

The choice of retailer is always up to every public sector entity. Electricity and natural gas contracts can be separated, down to the level of specific site IDs. In some instances, your facilities may have site IDs contracts that don’t come up for renewal all at the same time.

Backed by RMA, as a non-profit organization, you can expect Canoe Energy contracts to be competitively priced, to support rural Alberta municipalities and all other public sector entities in Alberta.

We encourage organizations to allow Canoe Energy to conduct a complete historic usage file review, in order to enhance your organizational due diligence and be sure you receive the best value. Ultimately, we want you to proceed confidently into your next energy contract to meet your site needs.

We’ve already done the procurement work for you. At Canoe Energy our goal is to support and protect your best interests, and we have done that through Canoe Energy’s multi-step energy procurement process on behalf of RMA/Canoe and its members.
It is however always your organization’s choice whether to use an independent procurement (Request for Proposal) process. Public sector entities also need to consider their existing procurement bylaws or policies in making procurement decisions.

This change aligns with other RMA program delivery, such as insurance and employee benefits programs, managed directly by RMA means better cost control, opportunity for tailored solutions and innovation along with enhanced membership experience.
